Gift of Caring

Each year, Hawai`i Girl Scout troops give back to their communities by  donating cookies to the military and locally-based charities. If for some reason a customer prefers not to buy Girl Scout cookies but would still like to donate to the Girl Scouts during Cookie Season, the Gift of Caring program allows them the chance to give back to the community while still supporting local Girl Scouts. This year, Hawai`i’s Girl Scouts did an outstanding job collecting donations for over 7,000 boxes of cookies–a 30% increase over last year! Donations will go toward supporting the following entities:

Local Oahu Organizations:

• Good Beginnings Alliance
• Hawai`i Food Bank
• Relay for Life

Military Entities:

• Medal of Honor
• Brigade 24-25SBCT

Neighbor Island Organizations:

• Charity Walk (Kauai, Maui, Hawai`i Island)
• Aloha House, Inc. (Maui)
• Hawaii Food Basket (Hawai`i Island)

We’ve updated our cookie boxes to include stories of what Girl Scouts do today, the fun they have doing it, and all that girls learn from the experience. It’s more than just cookies! When a Girl Scout sells you cookies, she’s building a lifetime of skills and confidence. She learns goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics—aspects essential to leadership, to success, and to life. By putting her mind and energies to something, a Girl Scout can overcome any challenge. There are no limits. She can be anything. She can do anything.
