how to get involved
Girls today are busy! We know that it is sometimes difficult to fit Girl Scouting and traditional troop meetings into your schedule, especially in middle school and high school.
Girl Scouts has introduced six Pathways: Troop, Camp, Events, Series, Travel and Virtual, in which you can join or participate in Girl Scouts. You can choose one, all or some of the Pathways, though some are geared toward different grade levels. There’s bound to be one Pathway (or many) that will fit your schedule!
Different Pathways, Same Journey
The following Girl Scout Pathways are the different ways in which girls and volunteers participate in Girl Scouting:
TROOP
Want to participate in exciting activities, throughout the school year, with a small group of girls? You’ll share so much as the girls in your troop earn awards and badges, go on field trips, and learn from community leaders and experts on issues important to your community.
CAMP
Unplug from your everyday demands and explore the great outdoors with a group of like-minded girls. Share your passion and unique talents with tomorrow’s outdoor enthusiasts.
EVENTS
Have high energy but limited availability? Choose your favorite topics, and help girls unleash their potential. You’ll interact with girls, excite their passions, and help them become their best selves.
SERIES
Have a particular skill or talent? Looking for a chance to work with girls without a long-term commitment? Then come share your passion with a focused group of girls who can’t wait to learn your skill or pursue your area of interest.
TRAVEL
Expand girls’ horizons. Explore the world—or at least your corner of it—with a group of girls who need your help planning a trip, earning money, and preparing themselves for the adventures of travel.
TROOPS
Want to participate in exciting activities, throughout the school year, with a small group of girls? You’ll share so much as the girls in your troop earn awards and badges, go on field trips, and learn from community leaders and experts on issues important to your community.
VIRTUAL
Web-based troops make the most of online meeting venues, social networking, and occasional face-to-face gatherings. GSH offers girls CLICK, which stands for: Connect, Lead, Inspire, Change and Keep it going! Specifically created for Cadette (grades 6–8), Senior (grades 9–10) and Ambassador (grades 11–12) Girl Scouts, the CLICK virtual troop is a great option for busy girls! CLICK makes the same great impact on the world, but through an interactive and secure online environment. A Virtual Volunteer takes girls on a journey, and at the end of the year, helps the girls plan and complete a Take Action project. CLICK welcomes new members, girls in traditional troops and Juliette Girl Scouts. If you would like to learn more about virtual troops, please contact us at [email protected] or 808-595-8400.
In addition, Girl Scouts offers:
JULIETTE
Juliette Girl Scouts are individually registered Girl Scouts not connected to a troop. Though Juliettes are available to all age levels, it’s especially popular among Girl Scouts 11-17 who love the program but are very busy with other activities. Juliettes can also be girls waiting to be placed into a troop.
