From cookouts to campfires, here’s a chance to have fun with your troop and meet other Brownie & Junior Girl Scouts from around the island for an exciting weekend at the beautiful Camp Paumalu! Girls build Courage, Confidence and Character by participating in hikes, swimming, a cookout, a campfire and so much more!

Event open to:
Brownie & Junior Girl Scout Troops and adult chaperones. All girls must be accompanied by at least one adult chaperone.

To insure the greatest number of girls can attend the camp, please limit the number of adult chaperones to:
- 1 – 2 adults for up to 10 girls from your Troop
- 2 or more adults if 11 or more girls attend from your Troop

This month we invite all Cadette, Senior and Ambassador level Girl Scout Troops to put their outdoor know-how to the test at our survivor themed long weekend camp! In a lush, secluded setting girls will spend their days mastering basic outdoor skills, camping in a self-pitched tent, then have the chance to put everything to use in a cumulative hike along the rustic trails that weave through GSH’s own Camp Paumalu. Come and share that experience with your daughter at the Dad & Me camp and join in her excitement as she discovers more about herself and connects with girls and dads from other Troops, who share the same passion for nature and all it has to offer.

*Dads/male guardians sleep in the same unit but NOT the same tent/cabin as the girls.

Camping Hawaiian Style Training

Interested in taking your troop camping? Join us for a day at Camp Paumalu and learn to teach outdoor skills to the girls in a troop, Service Unit or program setting. Yummy outdoor cooking, knot tying, pocket knife safety and fire building are just a few of the skills adults and Program Aides will learn.

Event open to:
All registered adult volunteers and Program Aides
Please register each attendee individually. Bring your own sack lunch, water bottle, empty tuna can and a sharpened pocket knife.

Registration will close when maximum number of participants has been reached.

Health Information for Council Programs form:
Each participant is to complete either the Adult or Girl Health Information for Council Programs form. Bring the completed form with you at check in. The appropriate form can be found on our website: www.girlscouts-hawaii.org

Fee/Refund Policy: This event has a no-refund policy. The GSH reserves the right to cancel any event at any time if the minimum has not been reached, or if there are extenuating circumstances that require cancellation, In this case, GSH will refund registration fees in entirety or in a pro-rata amount based on expenses incurred.

Requirement: Before starting this training, all adults are required to complete the Group Travel Training, home study and pass the online examination.

Cadette girls will spend a weekend at Camp Paumalu earning both their Cadette Breathe Journey and the Wonders of Waters Lia award working with Brownies. Individual girls or troops may register for this camp. Both the Breathe Book ($7) and Breathe Award Patch Set ($5) Lia WOW Patch ($2.50) may be optionally purchased at time of registration.

Do you want to learn first aid and life support strategies while hiking, camping and swimming? We invite all Cadette, Senior & Ambassador-level Girl Scouts to put their outdoor know-how to the test at our First Aid-themed weekend camp! In a lush, secluded setting, spend the day on Saturday learning basic first aid for indoor and outdoor situations. On Sunday, put your skills to use in a practice outdoor first aid scenario at GHS’s own Camp Paumalu.

Thank you for your interest in the upcoming PCCS Dad & Me Camp on Dec. 7-8, 2013. The number of Dads and Daughters has surpassed our maximum number at camp capacity and the registration is closed. 

A Girl or Adult Health Information for Council Programs form must be completed and submitted for all girl participants and their Dads by Monday, 11/25. These forms found on our website, are “fillable” Word documents. To sign these documents, please type in your complete name on the applicable three signature lines. Attach the documents to an email and email them to miuno@girlscouts-hawaii.org.
