    Description:

Do you love camping and the outdoors? Do you love working with girls to develop leadership skills? Become part of the PCCS volunteer staff to help organize and run council camp programs. Affectionately called PCCS, which stands for Paumalu Camping with a Core Staff, these volunteers are dedicated and committed to Girl Scouts and camp. PCCS volunteers help in many different ways–sign up today and join the fun!Girls will have the opportunity to:
    1) Discover ways that camping and the outdoors develop a strong sense of self, positive values and practical life skills.
    2) Connect with other girls and adults to develop healthy relationships through cooperation, team building, and conflict resolution.
    3) Take action to become resourceful problem solvers and leaders who inspire others to act.

In order to be part of the PCCS team, all girls must be at least a Cadette Girl Scout and have completed the 7th grade. The girls must also have completed Program Aide (PA) 1 and 2 training and have experience working with younger girls either at a day camp or other activity. Each PCCS girl must also commit to working at least two (2) PCCS camps during the 2013-2014 membership year. For more information about completing the PA trainings, please contact Mike Uno at [email protected].

At this training camp over the Labor Day Weekend, girls will develop leadership skills, become familiar with the camp facilities, hike the trails, swim in the pool, practice outdoor skills, learn games, lead songs and become familiar with the different camps that PCCS offers.

Adults are also an essential part of the PCCS volunteer staff and are required to attend this training camp. New and returning adults will learn the expectations of their role as a PCCS adult volunteer.
