Do you love camping and the outdoors? Do you love working with girls to develop leadership skills? Join and become a PCCS volunteer staff to help organize and run council camp programs. Affectionately called PCCS, which stands for Paumalu Camping with a Core Staff, sign up today and join the fun!Girls will have the opportunity to:
1) Discover ways that camping and the outdoors develop a strong sense of self, positive values and practical life skills.
2) Connect with other girls and adults to develop healthy relationships through cooperation, team building, and conflict resolution.
3) Take action to become resourceful problem solvers and leaders who inspire others to act.In order to be part of the PCCS team, all girls must be at least a Cadette Girl Scout and have completed the 7th grade. The girls must also have completed Program Aide (PA) 1 and 2 training and have experience working with younger girls either at a day camp or other activity. Each PCCS girl must also commit to working at least two (2) PCCS camps during the 2014-15 membership yearAt this training camp over the Labor Day Weekend, girls will develop leadership skills, become familiar with the camp facilities, hike the trails, swim in the pool, practice outdoor skills, learn games, lead songs and become familiar with the different camps that PCCS offers.

Adults are also an essential part of the PCCS volunteer staff and are also required to attend this training camp. New and returning adults will learn the expectations of your chosen role as a PCCS adult volunteer.

Event is open to Cadettes (must have completed 7th grade), Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts who have completed PA1 & 2 training or worked with younger girls and adults.
All returning PCCS girls and adults must attend both the In-Town and At-Camp trainings.

IN-TOWN TRAINING-REQUIRED ATTENDANCE: Saturday, August 23, 2014
RETURNING PCCS girls and adults:8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.
First year girls and their parent or guardian and first year adults: 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Where: Central Union Church – Women’s Building, 1660 So. Beretania St., Honolulu, HI 96826.
(Driving directions to camp and gate combination will be provided at this In-Town training)

AT-CAMP TRAINING-REQUIRED ATTENDANCE: Friday, August 29, 2014-Sunday August 31, 2014.
Camp begins: Friday, August 29, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. SHARP!
Camp ends: Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.

Fees: In-Town and At-Camp Trainings: $40.00 per participant.
Two (2) Working Camp fee: $40.00 per participant
Staff Polo Shirt: $20,00 optional if needed. Specify your size: AS, AM, AL, AXL or other.
