In conjunction with the National Defense Education Program (NDEP), Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) aims to recognize local high school students who have demonstrated a dedication to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
The intent is to honor students for academic achievement and personal involvement in robotics by providing financial assistance in the form of scholastic achievement awards. With NDEP funding, ten $2000 awards are offered in 2014.
